Origin
Binary Glyph was founded in 2001.
Twenty-five years of building marketing systems and brand work for established businesses. The tools have changed many times. The work has not.
Structure. Clarity. Momentum. A system that compounds instead of a collection of activity that doesn’t.
The principal
Binary Glyph is led by Steve Ice, its founder and principal.
I started this practice because the structure I wanted to work inside did not exist. Marketing was being sold as a collection of disconnected services — strategy here, design there, technology somewhere else, with no one responsible for the whole. The work suffered. The clients suffered. The results never compounded.
Binary Glyph is built on the opposite premise. One practice takes responsibility for the whole. The strategy and the brand and the website and the infrastructure are not separate disciplines handed off between vendors. They are a single act of building something that works.
Twenty-five years of doing this work has taught me what compounds and what doesn’t. What requires technical foundation and what requires creative judgment. What clients actually need versus what they say they want. The practice is the form that thinking takes.

Today
Binary Glyph operates from Toledo, Ohio, and serves clients across the region and beyond.
What we design, we deploy. Brand systems, websites, email campaigns, the infrastructure that runs them — built and shipped by the same hands. The work is delivered by the principal and a small team of trusted collaborators.
Engagements are limited by design. We take on a small number of clients at a time so that each one receives the full attention of the practice rather than a fraction of it.
The integration is the product. Not the individual components — the system they add up to.
Most practices sell services. Binary Glyph builds the thing the services are supposed to produce. The distinction is the entire practice.
